Apprenticeship in Accounting
This Apprenticeship could be the one for you if you’re working in an accounts department, helping a business or organisation manage their money properly.
The vocational qualification is the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. This is an introductory level covering the basics of accounting and double entry book-keeping concept. The modules include:

Basic Accounting I – Principles of recording and processing financial transactions, preparing and recording financial documentation

Basic Accounting II – Maintaining and reconciling the cash book, banking procedures, maintaining petty cash records, journals and control accounts

Work effectively in accounting and finance

Basic Costing – Basic principles and providing basic cost and revenue information

Computerised Accounting

Professional ethics in accounting and finance (Apprenticeship route only)
Other components in the Accounting Apprenticeship are:

Functional Skills English level 2 or Key Skills Communication – level 2

Functional Skills Maths level 1 or Key Skills Application of Number – level 1

Employment Rights and Responsibilities – completion of a workbook
Method of Assessment

Units 1, 2, 4, 6 – Computer based exam
- Units 3 & 5 – Work based evidence or computer based exam
Method of Delivery

One day per week classroom tuition
- Visits to workplace by your Learning Advisor for assessment and programme reviews.
